To connect members of all Nair Tharvads of Kerala

The “Trikateri Nairveed” is one of the famous nair THARAVADs in Malabar - Kerala. It has a history of more than 400 years! Its history had been linked with many other famous Nair tharavads of yesteryears such as Kavlappara, Manjeri, Kolathoor, Vayavanattu Kizhekepat (Kuttipuram), Kannambra, Chittoor, Mankara, Mannarkad , to name few, in south and north Malabar through strong family ties.

• Isn’t nice, if all of us know our glorious heritage and be proud of?

Won’t it be nice to keep track and in touch with ever increasing number of members of these families?

Isn’t it our strength?

Imagine if we go any part of, not only India, but also of the world and have a “family member” in that location to take care of you! Now also they are there, but we are not aware of their existence!

Do you know that we have spouses in our family belonging to, not only to other states of India, but also from North America, Mexico, Russia, Europe, China, Singapore?

With these in view, I have started making a computer based Family tree of “Trikateri Nairveed” with other “related nairveeds” linked to it. The family tree is being made using a powerful multifunctional US Based software which has provision to store and retrieve Personal information, Photos, important documents (like your first love letter, your parents last letter, your new house, some news about you published in paper etc) by the clique of a mouse. It has a smart search faculty, and various graphical representation of information / reports based on this data. The database can store personal details, photos and other important milestones info of our big family.

So far I have created a database of about 400 members’ basic data and photos spanning from year 1820 to year 2005 i.e about 200 Years of history!!! My target is to collect data of about 750-1000 members from the past 400 years of our heritage. In phase II, we will make it available on the Internet.

I request you to contribute to this endeavour by contacting all belonging to our Tharavads and tharavads related to ours to get maximum data. You may also inform me the “sources” from where we can get more information so that I can tap them. If we all put in our all out effort, this will be a great success.

I, therefore, request you to send the following data either through e-mail or by post so that I can incorporate them in the family tree.

Basic family Information – Members names, Date of birth, Place of Birth, Tharavad name, Children names their date of birth, Date of marriage, Mother in Law Father in law - pictures -, Qualifications, Current address, e-mail address etc.

Additional Info on major milestones: Ezhuthiniruthal, Choroonu, Marriage, any other important events, posting / examination success, hobbies etc.
